SCOOTER BUYER'S GUIDE
What is the best scooter for a 2 year old?

Have you seen those little toddlers of 2 years old pushing those feet on the sidewalks? Exactly, there are scooters specially issued for the little ones. Toddlers of 1 or 2 years old can start to use these safe and fun toys right after they start to walk. And they can spend hours and hours playing in the playground with their lil friends. Moreover, it helps them mentally and physically to develop their senses. Plus, it is the starting point to learning how to balance themselves before they learn how to ride a bike.
Observe how fun it is to scoot in the park while their parents rest at least a little. And how cheap they are compared to those electronic devices that don't do any good to them on the long run.
Below is our list of the best toddler scooters on Amazon! Take a look at them!

ADULTS' ELECTRIC BIKES
Top #10 Picks for you to choose your bike

Bicycles have long been a staple of the outdoor adventure. A good bike can take you far, and give you a good workout along the way. But the traditional, old school bicycle is simply not as technologically advanced as good, modern electric bike. Electric bikes do a nice job of augmenting human muscle power with a bit of technology, making it much easier to climb steep hills and inclines, and even just bike for longer in one sitting since you aren’t doing quite as much work. Granted, you might not get as much of a workout, but an electric bike can take you even further than a regular bike, and with a lot less effort too.

Taking all of that into account, everyone that likes biking could benefit even more from an electric bike. But there are all sorts of electric bikes out there; which one is right for you? Do you want a bike that will carry you to your destination with no effort on your part? Or a bike you can get a workout on while receiving some assistance on those extremely steep hills? Do you want an off road bike or a cruising bike? These questions can be tough to answer, since they depend on many different factors. But this article will hopefully help you find those elusive answers.

Our #10 Top Picks for Electric Bicycles for Adults

1

Ancheer Power Plus

This aircraft grade aluminum body electric bike comes from Ancheer, a leading prestigious brand in e-bikes. It is tough, light, and responsive, and comes equipped with a respectable 36V 8Ah Lithium-Ion battery and a 250W stable brushless motor. With this, the Ancheer power plus adds a lot of power to your usual muscle power, providing all sorts of potential boons; it’s great for extending how long you can ride, making steep inclines or arduous terrain easier to traverse, or just having more fun on your usual trails. And with its removable battery, you can always treat the Ancheer Power Plus as a regular bike if you so desire. At around $700.00, none of this is a bad deal at all.

Pros

  • Decent travel range of fifteen to thirty miles on one battery charge, very good for an e-bike.

  • -Made of tough, aircraft grade materials that make absorbing shock easy and surviving off-road conditions no challenge.
  • -Can reach speeds of up to fifteen miles an hour, which is quite fast for a bike and is good for acceleration.

Cons

  • Battery is detachable and not well-protected from the elements, so probably wouldn’t be able to use it in the rain without extra protection.

Benefits

Benefits: The Ancheer Power Plus has a great electric range of fifteen miles, and a decent top speed of fifteen miles an hour. It has three different speeds that can be controlled at the touch of a button, so operating it is easy enough, and it also comes with a very bright LED light and a loud horn, which are both important for being noticed in congested areas. Other than that, its lithium ion battery can be charged fairly quickly both on and off the frame, and it is made of very tough quality materials, so off-road travel is a breeze.

What we like about it: Ancheer is a well-known e-bike manufacturer, and their e-bikes have a good reputation for being durable yet light and responsive. This particular electric bike is no exception, and it simply has good specs all around.

2

Ecotric Fat Tire Electric Bike

from $912.00

Buy on Amazon

This particular bike is a great one, with all terrain durability and a whole lot of electric power to back it up. With a 26 x 4.0 fat tire, it can handle nearly all terrains with great stability and relative comfort. On top of that, it has a very powerful electric motor that uses 500w, and has an astounding top speed of twenty three miles an hour. In short, this bike it very tough and resilient, while still being fast and intuitive. Of course, all of these great advantages come at a heftier cost of around $900.00 for this model of e-bike.

Pros

  • Is very fast for an e-bike, with a top speed that is just shy of twenty five miles an hour.
  • Has a very powerful motor, capable of producing more power for more speed and consistency.
  • Very fine-tuned speed control, with seven speed settings to give the rider the best control.
  • Has a max range of twenty five miles on electric power alone, very good for an e-bike.

Cons

  • This particular model doesn’t come with front or rear suspension, but this is offset by the wide tires.
  • Lots of really good features make the bike a bit more expensive than some of the other options out there.

Benefits

Benefits:
Where to start? As stated previously, this e-bike is fast. At twenty three miles an hour max speed, it has almost ten miles an hour on the aforementioned Ancheer model. And that speed is likely thanks to the very powerful 500w motor. A more powerful motor means the bike can perform more consistently, since it will be able to power through more types of hindering terrain and also support larger weights than a weaker motor could. And of course, it is quite tough, since it has to survive those off road adventures. It also has great speed control with seven options, compared to the Ancheer’s three.

What we like about it:

Simply put, this e-bike has good stats. It has a great top speed and a very powerful motor, and that already gives it a good edge over a lot of the competition, and it makes it even more fun to ride.

3

GoPlus 26” E-Bike

A more relaxing type of e-bike, this one doesn’t go especially fast, but it does have full suspension and great ergonomic handles and seats. It has three different riding modes, but they are kind of basic, since they are just manual, assist, and full electric mode. Of course, this bike is probably not really designed for rigorous off road escapades. Sure, the bike itself is made of durable aluminum alloy and it does have that full suspension, but its relatively low top speed of about thirteen miles an hour, coupled with a 350w motor, means this bike is probably better suited for relaxing rides on roads that aren’t terrible strenuous.

Pros

  • Full suspension guarantees a comfortable ride, absorbing shock as you ride with great ease.
  • Ergonomic seats and handles ensure that no matter where you ride, you stay comfortable while doing so.
  • Aluminum alloy is tough and durable, yet light, so the bike won’t be damaged easily while not being unwieldy.

Cons

  • Top electric motor speed of approximately thirteen miles an hour is very low compared to many other e-bikes.
  • Max electric motor range of twenty miles with pedal assistance is not great compared to some other models.

Benefits

Benefits:

Full suspension means that this e-bike will be extremely comfortable to ride, with you as the rider not suffering much of a bump even on large drops or elevation changes. Combined with the ergonomic seat and handles, you can see why we mention comfort as a major boon of this e-bike. This isn’t to say you couldn’t use it in a rugged capacity, but you’d probably be better off finding a different model if you are going to use it for primarily off-road stunts.

What we like about it: Admittedly this bike isn’t the best when it comes to range or speed, but for a relaxing ride it sure is comfortable. It’s just plain fun to ride, because it feels so smooth and seamless, not to mention easy to control. It’s a simple but enjoyable bike.

4

Addmotor MOTAN 1000 Watt E-Bike

from $1,499.00

Buy on Amazon

Looking at this bike on Amazon, you’ll likely notice its most notable feature right away; it is ridiculously expensive. At a downright astounding price of $1,500.00, you’ll be hard pressed to find an e-bike more expensive than this one. Sure, you can purchase an e-bike like this through monthly payments, but either way this is way more money than most would expect. It’s just shy of four times the price of the first e-bike we talked about.

Of course, it isn’t so expensive for no reason at all. The reason this Addmotor model is so costly is because it is without a doubt one of the best e-bikes on the market. It can travel further, ride faster, withstand more abuse, and carry more weight. It has one of the most powerful motors on any e-bike with 1000w, twice as much as the second highest bike we’ve discussed so far. This bike is costly, but if you want the best of the best it is assuredly in that category.

Pros

  • Top speed of thirty miles an hour is one of the fastest you’ll find on an e-bike.

  • Durable body and powerful motor supports about 350 lbs., and also provides great power for going on steep inclines.
  • Seven speed variable control gives you precise control over your e-bike and its motor .
  • Motor range of roughly fifty miles is also one of the largest ranges you’ll find on an e-bike.

Cons

  • A jaw-dropping price of over 1500 bucks is more than double the price of many other e-bikes

Benefits

Benefits:

As stated above, this e-bike has the best stats we’ve seen so far. With its 1000w motor and extremely durable body, it can support up to 350 lbs., much more than most other e-bikes, and it can reach speeds of up to thirty miles an hour, making it one of the fastest e-bikes available as well. It also has seven speed variable control and great suspension, and has an electric motor range of roughly fifty miles, far more than any of the competition thus far. It’s a costly bike, but without a doubt a high performance one.

What we like about it: This e-bike is expensive, there’s no doubt about it. But you also can’t deny that it’s one of the fastest, most powerful e-bikes available. If you’re willing to part with that much money, you probably won’t find too many e-bikes with higher performance than this one.

5

Cyrusher XF660

$2,239.00

Buy on Amazon

Another significantly expensive bike at about $2,000.00+, the Cyrusher XF660 is a fat tire e-bike ideal for tackling off road terrain such as snow and sand. Its durable construction can support upwards of three hundred pounds, and its 500w motor is powered by a waterproof lithium ion battery. Its speed and range are a little less than the aforementioned Addmotor e-bike, but for nearly $1,000.00 less, it’s reasonable to expect some performance differences. Its biggest advantages over many other e-bikes is the 4” fat tires.

Pros

  • Can support significant weight at upwards of 300 lbs., and has very durable construction.
  • Waterproof battery ensures that the bike can still be powered electrically even during inclement weather.

Cons

  • For such an expensive bike, its top speed and max electric range aren’t much better than most cheaper e-bikes.

Benefits

What we like about it: This bike is perfect for off road travel. That’s just all there is to it. It has great resilience and stability, making it an ideal choice if you are tackling a tough terrain like sand or snow. It may not be the fastest bike, but speed isn’t all that important when you are in these off road situations.

6

Merax 26” Electric Bicycle

Coming back down to the realm of affordable e-bikes, this Merax model is not going to stack up in raw stats compared to the thousands of dollars e-bikes we mentioned previously. But of course, the nice benefit is that it doesn’t cost thousands of dollars. This bike is pretty average across the board, but in a way that is a good deal for the price you are paying for it. It won’t disappoint you; it just won’t perform to the same degree as the bike you would have paid almost three thousand dollars for.

Pros

  • Seven speed variable control allows for much greater precision in operating your e-bike.
  • Has pretty solid power and statistics for its price, besting many other similarly priced e-bikes.

Cons

  • Nothing overly remarkable about it, pretty average across the board.

Benefits

Benefits:

While a 350w motor might seem a little low compared to some of the other motors we’ve seen, it’s more than enough to give this bike decent acceleration and distance. It can hit speeds of about twenty miles an hour, and it can ride about twenty two to twenty eight miles an hour on a single battery charge. It does have seven speed variable control, and also two working modes. On top of that, it can support about two hundred and fifty lbs.

What we like about it:

The thing about this e-bike is that it isn’t anything special, but it isn’t anything bad either. It’s just a really good all-rounder, with good range, good speed, and good durability. For its price it is a truly good deal.

7

Tomasar Power Electric Bike

About $700.00 is the usual for a decent e-bike, and this one is no exception. While it doesn’t come pre-assembled, it is another 100% aluminum alloy e-bike, and it, like many others, has a seven speed variable control capability. It has disc brakes on both the front and the back of the bike, making safety a much more prominent feature. Its 250w motor doesn’t let it go very fast, but this e-bike from Tomasar promotes safety and durability above all else.

Pros

  • Dual disc brakes for both wheels make stopping the bike in an emergency very easy
  • Combination of aluminum alloy and carbon steel makes the bike tough and durable

Cons

  • Top speed is quite low at fifteen miles an hour.
  • Lacks any truly special qualities that set it apart from other bikes

Benefits

Benefits:

As mentioned previously, having reliably disc brakes on both the front and back wheels is a great boon, allowing you to bring this bike to a stop very quickly. It has two working modes and three different speed settings, but other than that it doesn’t offer anything overly special. It is a good bike with an average motor range and a top speed of about fifteen miles an hour, and it isn’t very expensive. It’s another one of those e-bikes that seems to pale in comparison to the several thousand dollars models, but of course, it doesn’t cost thousands of dollars.

Why We like it:

This is another bike we like not because it is incredible in any particular way, but because it is solid in nearly every way. It’s not mind-blowingly amazing, but it is resilient, has decent speed, and has no real flaws, while being at a good price.

8

Tomasar Power Electric Bike

A somewhat cheaper e-bike model at about $600.00, this model from Aceshin is unique in that it has a twenty one speed transmission system, which is quite extensive compared to a lot of other models. It can go about fifteen miles on electric power alone, and thirty miles with pedal assistance. It also has disc brakes on both the front and the rear of the bike, which is of course quite useful.

Pros

  • 21 speed transmission system provides unparalleled control over your ride.
  • Is the cheapest bike so far, by a solid $100.00 or so.
  • Thirty miles with pedal assistance is on par with other, more expensive e-bike.

Cons

Benefits

What we like about it:

The 21 speed transmission system and relatively affordable price is what we like about this particular bike. Other than that, it’s just your run of the mill e-bike, capable but nothing special.

9

Kemanner 29” E-Mountain Bike

Another approximately $700.00 e-bike, this model’s best feature is the fact that it has a range of fifty miles with pedal assist. This is quite a bit of distance for a bike this price, even if you have to add some pedal power in there to make it go that far. Surprisingly, it also has a 21 speed transmission system, which is pretty rare, yet has now been seen on two different bikes. Other than that it is a pretty average e-bike at a pretty average price.

Pros

  • Very long potential range of fifty miles with pedal assist as well as electric power.
  • 21 speed transmission offers an extremely high amount of speed control.

Cons

  • Does not offer very high speed, and is not suited for off road riding.

Benefits

Benefits:

As before, the 21 speed transmission system is always a nice thing to have if you want unparalleled control of your bike during operation. But this bike’s main benefit is its range. While it does require pedal assist, fifty miles is a pretty long range for a bike that costs around the average $700.00 mark. Other than that, it is of course made of durable and resilient material.

What we like about it:

The best part of this e-bike is its significant potential distance. Few e-bikes this cheap have the ability to travel roughly fifty miles, even if it is with pedal assist power. On top of that, it is always nice to have a bike with a 21 speed transmission system.

Buy on Amazon

What’s special about this electric bike is its retro look. Unfortunately, it is also pretty pricey at just a little over $2000.00. A large part of that cost is probably due to the vintage look and appeal, but as we have already determined thus far, e-bikes this expensive usually offer significant specific advantages as well. For one, this bike is the fastest on this list thus far at thirty five miles an hour. It also has an astounding range of almost forty miles in one charge, and the battery is hidden in a special compartment so it doesn’t ruin the vintage look of the bike.

Pros

  • Very long potential range of fifty miles with pedal assist as well as electric power.
  • 21 speed transmission offers an extremely high amount of speed control.

Cons

  • It is definitely one of the more expensive e-bikes on this list, though it is mostly warranted by extremely good statistics.

  • It's an outright cruiser bike, suited for pavement and smooth roads, and not any particularly difficult terrain.

  • It's a very heavy sixty-three pounds, which would make the bike difficult to ride without the use of its electric motor

Benefits

Benefits:

As stated previously, it is clear that the main draw of this bike is in fact its appearance. The vintage 20’s look is the main reason you would probably be interested in this bike, but thankfully it is not all looks. With the ability to ride nearly sixty miles maximum, and at speeds of thirty five miles an hour, this e-bike is just barely shy of not being a bike at all. If you want it for its aesthetic, that’s all well and good, but it would be a good investment as far as its actual statistics go as well. Some of its different color options are even cheaper than the $2000.00 price, so if you don’t much care what color it is, you can get a bike with such amazing abilities at a fairly good price.

What we like about it:

The fact that this is just one cool looking e-bike can’t be denied. On top of that, it is one of the fastest e-bikes available at a blistering thirty five miles an hour. And it’s even cheaper than the other expensive bike mentioned on this list that can’t even go as fast. A combination of cool looks and capable power just makes this one a fun ride.

Used Criteria to Evaluate Electric Bicycles

These reviews aren’t exactly in-depth, really only giving you some basic information about each bike and about how much they each cost. It’s not exactly a lot to go on. This guide is intended to be a baseline, something you use to guide your own research into e-bikes by providing you with a general look at how they tend to be. By understanding what is the average and what isn’t, you get a better idea of what is a good deal and what’s not.
So, we’re going to talk about the criteria you should use when judging e-bikes for yourself, so you can make more informed decisions when you are conducting your own research. Some of these criteria are more important than others, and some aren’t important at all depending on what you are looking for in an e-bike specifically. But they are all worth considering before making a major purchase, which all e-bikes are with their significant financial investment.

1

How fast can it go?

The importance of this factor varies based on what you want to use your electric bike for. Obviously, if you are going to use it for relaxing, effortless rides around the neighborhood, it probably doesn’t need to have a very high top speed (and just so we’re being clear, we’re referring to the top speed the bike reaches using its electric motor). But if you plan on doing more arduous things with it, a higher top speed may actually be very important to you.

And unfortunately, the speed of an electric bike fluctuates a lot, and its affected by many different things. You can rest assured that the advertised top speed of an e-bike will generally be pretty difficult to reach; if a manufacturer says the bike can go twenty miles an hour, they probably mean it can go that fast under ideal circumstances. When you factor in the weight of the rider, the unevenness of the terrain, and the steepness of any inclines, any e-bike will probably go a little slower than advertised.

That said, it is still worth noting that the alleged top speed of e-bikes has a very wide range; some go as slow as ten miles an hour, and others go as fast as thirty-five. It’s up to your own discretion to determine what speed is right for you.

2

How far can it go?

This criteria refers to the distance an e-bike can travel before the battery gives out. Now, there are two types of distance to consider here, as a manufacturer might list both. First of all, there is how far the e-bike can go on electric power and nothing else; how far it can go if you never pedal at all and let the motor do all the work. Second, is how far the bike can ideally travel with a combination of pedal power and the motor’s power. Generally, the manufacturer will list the second distance, because it’s a larger and more appealing number.

This just means you need to make doubly sure how far the real distance of an e-bike’s motor is. If a manufacturer only lists one number, they might be listing the ideal distance with the perfect combination of pedal power and electric power, rather than the more realistic distance that you probably want to know. In these situations, it would probably help you to look at product reviews for an answer or send a question directly to the manufacturer. Other manufacturers may actually list both distances.

3

How wide are the tires?

This criteria really only matters for you if you are interested in an off road e-bike. Wider tires generally provide a bike with more stability on unfavorable terrain like sand, snow, and gravel. These e-bikes are usually called ‘fat tire’ bikes, a few of which are a part of the list above. Thankfully this is an easy criteria to evaluate; if you want an off road e-bike, look specifically for fat tire bikes, and if you just want one for smooth roads, don’t bother with them.

4

How many working modes does it have?

This is a simple one. Most electric bikes have two to three working modes, which just refers to how the bike can be operated. There’s a full electric mode, where the motor propels the bike forward and you do nothing, and the manual mode where your pedal power does all the work and the motor is off. Many e-bikes have a third mode that is the assist mode, where the motor supplements your muscle power to split the effort.

Generally, you won’t find too many bikes with different working modes than these three main ones, but if you do it might be worth looking into.

5

How good is its variable speed transmission?

You probably saw this term come up a few times during the reviews of the e-bikes above. Naturally, many e-bikes need to have speed settings, so you can control how fast it goes when using its motor power. Different e-bikes will have a different number of settings for speed, and more is generally better.
Most e-bikes only have seven speed variable transmission, which means you only get seven speed settings. Other bikes might have less, and some bikes have as many as twenty one speed settings, giving you an extreme degree of control over how fast you and your bike go. For this criteria, just keep in mind that the more speed settings there are available, the more options you have in managing your bike’s speed.

6

How long does it take the battery to charge?

All of these e-bikes run on batteries. They are usually rechargeable lithium ion batteries of various volts, but they all need to be charged at some point or another. Max charge time is just how long you have to charge the battery before it is at maximum capacity, and therefore capable of providing the maximum speed and distance when powering your electric bike.

A general average for battery charge times is four to six hours. You might want to keep looking if you come across a bike with a charge time significantly longer than that.

7

What is the wattage of the motor?

This criteria is kind of redundant, since it is related to speed and distance, but still worth mentioning. Generally speaking, a more powerful motor is better. There’s very few situations in
which this isn’t the case. More powerful motors will carry you up steep hills, provide greater speed, and power the e-bike for longer distances. They can also generally support more weight.
Most e-bikes have motors in the 250w to 500w range. E-bikes with 250w motors may claim they can reach speeds of twenty miles an hour or so, but with a weaker motor, speed hindrances become more prominent. A 250w motor isn’t going to power through a steep incline as easily as a 500w motor will. In short, even if two e-bikes both claim to have a max speed of twenty miles an hour, the e-bike with the more powerful motor will reach that speed with much less difficulty.

8

How much does the bike weigh?

A minor point, but one that ties in with the strength of the motor. Generally, manufacturers are good enough at designing e-bikes that the motor is powerful enough to balance with the weight of the bike itself. But this could change if you run out of juice and then have to pedal or push the bike up a hill. For instance, one of the bikes on this list weighs almost seventy pounds. This is fine when its powerful motor still has juice and it can propel itself forward, but if you ran out in the middle of a ride and had to push a seventy pound bike up a hill, that could pose a serious problem. Make sure you know how much a bike weighs, because the heavier it is, the more pedal power you’ll need when you aren’t using the electric motor.

9

What is its intended purpose?

This is an important question to ask, because, like regular bicycles, electric bikes are designed with different purposes in mind. A mountain bike is not designed to do the same things that a city bike is, and the same is true of electric bikes. If you buy a bike that was specifically designed for cruising, then don’t expect it to perform very well off road. And if you buy an off road bike, expect it to not go quite as fast as a bike designed for cruising on smooth paved streets.

Also consider whether the bike is geared towards full electric operation or assisted riding. Some bikes are designed to be ridden primarily through motor power, while others are designed to really just assist you in the regular operation of a bicycle. You should be aware of which one any particular e-bike is; that aforementioned seventy pound e-bike is probably geared towards being used with its motor, and rarely without it.

10

What are they made out of?

This criteria isn’t really all that noteworthy, because most e-bikes are made of the exact same material; aluminum alloy and some carbon steel. These are by far the most common materials it e-bike construction, but that doesn’t mean they are always used. That said, most manufacturers will list what their bikes are made out of, so if you have a personal preference or want to make sure you aren’t getting a cheaply made bike, you can find those answers pretty readily.

11

How much does it cost?

The big question, one that everyone cares about unless they just have money to spare. E-bikes are pretty expensive, but their price range is wildly varied. Some of the most expensive e-bikes (some of which are on this list) cost almost three thousand dollars, while one of the cheapest is just barely more expensive than six hundred dollars.

It is worth noting that with e-bikes, you very much get what you pay for. The expensive bikes are so expensive because they can go faster and farther than all of the other bikes. But unless you really, really want to be able to go thirty miles an hour instead of fifteen, it’s probably not worth the almost triple price tag. Your average e-bike costs about seven hundred dollars, give or take.

That being said, you should also note that the price of some bikes can vary drastically based on things not related to performance. Some of the bikes on this list are significantly cheaper if you just buy them in a different color. Always check the different variants to see if you can get a better deal.

FAQ

Do these bikes come pre-assembled upon delivery?

The answer to this question depends entirely on the manufacturer. Some providers will ship the bike already assembled. Other e-bikes may come mostly assembled, but need the wheels attached or something similar. And yet some bikes may not come assembled at all, while the manufacturer offers to have a technician come out and assemble it for you. It is best to find out the answer to this question specifically from the manufacturer.

Will –any particular e-bike- be suitable for someone of my height/weight?

This is a question that is once again best asked to the manufacturer, or other people that already own the bike. When reading the product descriptions of these e-bikes, they will usually mention the maximum weight the bike is designed to support, but height is not always mentioned. If you have any doubts as to whether or not a particular bike will be suitable for your body type, ask the manufacturer directly.

Where can I get replacement parts for a bike?

Nearly all of these e-bikes come with some sort of warranty, and those warranties usually include covering replacements parts. If you need replacement parts, contact the manufacturer. They will either send you the replacement parts or direct you to a location where they can be provided. You should note that most warranties are limited and may have special rules or regulations, so be sure to know when your warranty expires if it does, or under what circumstances you are allowed to rely on that warranty to acquire replacement parts, maintenance, or financial compensation for any sort of incident.

Best Choice Products 6V Kids Electric Battery-Powered Ride-On Dirt Bike

Pros

  • Easy to use. Completely straightforward.
  • Comes in 3 colors: Red, Green and Orange.
  • Kids love its lights and working radio.
  • Safe: comes with training wheels.
  • Comes with an electric battery
  • Past customers state that it is suitable for 2 year old kids.
  • Priced to sell.

Cons

  • It has to be assembled by the buyer or they charge extra 90$ to assemble it for you.
  • It is too slow (Max speed 2MPH), although that makes it safer for toddlers.

Conclusion:

This is an excellent choice for kids of 2 to 3 years old, and not more than that age because it is slow and boring for an older kid. It is great to start because it is really easy to use. On the down side, the assembly is not as easy as it is with other toys and paying 90 bucks to get it assembled is not worth it IMHO.

Introduction: First introduced in the mid - 1970s by Yamaha, dirt bikes since then, has captured the attention of millions of adventure riders who like to ride on dirt roads. Dirt bikes are specially built and designed for dirt roads and pathways instead of smooth concrete roads.

There are different designs and models of dirt bikes available in the market. Each model and design serve its own purpose including the driving track, mini, dual purpose bikes that can be driven on the street as well, and there are several more. Enduro, Motocross, Flattracking, Pit bikes are some more distinct example of dirt bikes. However, some of them are designed and built for competition purpose only.

First, gasoline engine dirt bikes were first introduced in the market. It was a decades ago so, the engine was neither strong enough nor were they very efficient. In the last few years, dirt bikes were totally transformed into a whole different design and specifications.

To ride a dirt bike in dirt and pathways, the engine needs to produce heavy torque that supplies enough power to the engine. Big giants like Yamaha, KTM, Rajor and many other automobile companies came up with an elegant design that will provide you with the best possible experience while riding a dirt bike. Engines have become more powerful and improved wheel design can allow a dual dirt bike to be driven on both on-road and off-road.

Dirt bikes are manufactured after considering different tracks which separate one design from another. While dual purpose dirt bike can run on two separate tracks, there are motocross design, mini, and trail design. Mini dirt bikes are specially designed for kids as they are lightweight and have less powerful engines.

While other designs related to dirt bikes are usually for all ages including teens. Track and other factors such as the proficiency level, and age need to be considered while deciding to buy a dirt bike. Now, to help you make a better decision with better choices, we have sorted out a list of nine dirt bikes for adults that are sold on the market today.

What To Look For In An Ideal Electric Dirt Bike

When there was no concrete roads and highways, riding bikes on dirt has always been considered normal. Those bikes were not meant to ride on dirt but, they carried powerful engines, and they made it. Now, It is a whole different story today. With smooth concrete roads and highways, riding on dirt roads and pathways have become a sort of an unusual experience. But, people still enthusiastically prefer riding bikes on rough terrains especially dirt roads and pathways.

Let us directly jump onto getting familiar with some common features that you must look for while looking for the best electric dirt bike for adults that are available on the market.

TORQUE

Maximum power transfer of energy from the engine to the wheel is directly linked with the torque produced by a dirt bike. Any dirt bike is able to perform strongly in off-road terrains if the torque produced by its engine is high. So, while looking for the best dirt bike, always consider the bike that produces high torque in the price range you select. Now, do not worry if your favorite dirt bike does not mention torque in its specifications. In that case, you can look for maximum power your favorite dirt bike produce. Higher the Maximum Power/Torque, the better.

BATTERY CYCLES

Most dirt bikes offers a battery life that runs up to a maximum of 400-500 cycles. Cycles are the number of time you charge the battery can take before its efficiency drastically decline, or it runs out of the chemical rods that do not store any more charge. If you are not tight on budget, with a little extra price, you can buy a dirt bike that would offer the battery cycles of around 700-800 cycles without any significant decline in its efficiency. However, if you are deciding to go with a dirt bike that will offer battery cycles of 300-400; it will still work as the price you will pay would be lower, and you can always replace the old batteries with the new ones.

HAND GRIP

Hand Grip is one of the most essential features that must be firm and possess a powerful grip. That will assure you that when you are riding off-road terrains, you will not feel like losing control over the handling while encountering uneven tracks. Proper grip ensures not only balance, but it is also essential for concerns.

MAXIMUM SPEED

If you are enthusiastic about adventurous dirt riding, speed is surely a concern for you. I do not need to explain it to you as everyone knows what it is. Normally, dirt bikes are provided with less speed as compared with motorbikes. The maximum speed of a dirt bike describes the peak speed on off-road terrains that a dirt bike can go with. The Maximum speed of a dirt bike can vary which lies somewhere between 30-40 mph for advanced adult electric bikes. For beginner’s electric dirt bike, the maximum speed ranges from 15-25 mph.

DIRT BIKE TYPE

The very first thing that you will need to consider is the terrain you will want your dirt bike to be running on. Once you do that, make sure you have picked up the right type of dirt bike that is specially designed for the terrain of your choice. As discussed above, there are certain specific types of dirt bikes that are available on the market.

SUSPENSION

While riding uphill or dirt roads, the suspension will always prevent you from shock and impact force. Suspension absorbs the impact force within the frame and prevents the rider from experiencing any shock. However, there is some amount of shock or impact force that a rider will experience. But, a dirt bike with decent suspension will minimize the shock and will not allow that force to reach the rider.

Of course, there are many different styles, brands, and types of Bluetooth sets out there, and it may be a challenge to find out which one is the best for you. That’s why the detailed list below will help you figure out which set fits your needs the most.

2

Allros T10 3.0 Bluetooth Headset

Summary:

Summary:

A headset that puts more focus on communication range, but suffers in the number of people it can link at the same time. Of course, by ‘suffers’ we simply mean that it can connect a maximum of three people, which is hardly bad, but not quite as good as some other headsets either. After all, that number is only half of the aforementioned Heneng Headset. That said, the Allros T10 does put a lot more focus on range, with a communication range of approximately 1200 meters, or 1312 yards, which is just shy of a mile. It is both waterproof and windproof, allegedly resistant to all potential weather conditions, and of course, it is Bluetooth, so you can listen to music or answer phone calls as well.

Benefits:

Very few Bluetooth headsets have communication ranges that stretch over a mile, so the 1200 meter range of the Allros T10 is very impressive, allowing you to stray a bit further from your friends on the road. It also has a significant operation time of twelve hours, with three hundred hours on standby. It comes with high definition speakers and low volume headphones, so hearing your audio through the noise of a ride is easy.

Pros :

  • Very long transmission range of almost a mile is much greater than many other headsets, allowing for a larger riding formation without communication loss.
  • Long operational time of twelve hours and three hundred hours on standby is quite extensive and guarantees plenty of use per charge.

Cons :

  • Only able to pair up to three riders, which is much less than a lot of other Bluetooth headset.

WHY WE LIKE IT :

With a great transmission range of nearly a mile and an exceptional operation time of twelve hours, the Allros T10 not only gives your formation more freedom but is guaranteed to last through all but the longest rides.

3

Yideng BT-S2 Bluetooth Headset

Summary:

Summary:

Another Bluetooth headset that prioritizes transmission distance over pairing numbers, the BT-S2 is quite similar to the aforementioned Allros T10. However, it’s transmission range is about 1000 meters, which is a little less than the T10. On the flipside, the BT-S2 guarantees functionality at high speeds, maintaining clear communication at 75 miles per hour or 120 kilometers an hour. It also boasts easy installation, as well as an auxiliary plug-in for a 2.5 mm cord if needed. To top all that off, it also has an astounding standby time of ten days, guaranteeing that you won’t have to deal with the three and a half hour charge time very often.

Benefits:
As always, long transmission range is a great boon for any Bluetooth headset when it comes to maintaining communication with your fellow riders. Guaranteed functionality at high speeds also means you don’t have to restrict your movement as much as with other headsets, and the auxiliary backup is a great thing to have just in case Bluetooth is having an issue at any point in time. Ultimately, it’s always nice to have a reliable headset that can handle the speed and freedom of movement you want when riding.

Pros :

  • Extremely long standby life of ten days, so you don’t have to charge it very often when not being used
  • 2.5 mm auxiliary plugin provides an alternative to Bluetooth if you need one, making it more flexible than some other headsets.
  • Capable of functioning at high speeds, meaning you can enjoy the ride and not worry about slowing down to maintain communication.

Cons :

  • Low pairing threshold of three riders, significantly less than some other headset models.

WHY WE LIKE IT :

Having an auxiliary plugin in case there is an issue with Bluetooth pairing makes the BT-S2 far more reliable and versatile than many other headsets.

4

It is only the second headset on this list to pair up to six riders, so if you need to connect a large group, it has an edge over most of the other headsets we’ve mentioned here. It’s also a pretty cheap purchase at just under ninety dollars, but that low cost doesn’t result in poor quality. With eight hours of operational time and a transmission range of 1000 meters, as well as a 3.5 mm plugin for external devices, the LX-R6 doesn’t skip out just because you don’t have to pay as much for it.

Benefits:

With a waterproof design and the ability to function at 1000 meters even at 120 kilometers an hour, the LX-R6 gets the jobs done. Like all headsets, it can still be used for music, phone calls, GPS, and the essential rider to rider communication. Eight hours of operational time is pretty standard but generally more than enough for your average ride. And of course, this all comes at a pretty fair and affordable price compared to some of the more expensive models.

Pros :

  • 1000 meter transmission range and 120 Km/h functionality means the LX-R6 provides a lot more freedom for you and your group while riding.
  • Great price for reliable quality, many times cheaper than other headsets that offer similar functionality.
  • Pairing up to six riders, this headset is one of the few that can pair a group that large.
  • 3.5 mm plugin for external devices means you have more options available in how to receive audio if Bluetooth ever fails.

Cons :

  • Eight hour operation time is not bad but is definitely not great either.

WHY WE LIKE IT :

Nobody likes to spend a lot of money, but nobody wants to get poor quality products either. The LX-R6 is a great combination of affordability and quality.

FreedConn TCOM-SC Motorcycle Headset

Summary:

Summary:

Remember when we said that the LX-R6 was affordable? You can buy the FreedConn TCOM-SC for under fifty dollars, and that’s its main draw. Of course, the low cost doesn’t mean that it is bad or can’t compare to other motorcycle headsets. Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity is top of the line, it can maintain communications at ranges of 800 meters and speeds of 75 miles an hour, it has an LCD screen, and can browse FM radio like most other headsets. It can only pair up to three riders, which is admittedly on the low side of things, but even so, it meets a lot of expectations for something so affordable.

Benefits:

As said previously, the TCOM-SC is extremely affordable, while still remaining mostly capable. The LCD screen is quite a rare addition to the device, a few motorcycle headsets have a visual aspect to them, so mounting it properly gives you a secondary way to receive information without taking too much attention away from the road. On top of that, it has an exceptional operation time of ten hours and a standby time of three hours, so it gives back a lot more than you paid for it.

Pros:

Cons:

  • Has a unique audio plug, so the range of headphones it can use is limited

What we like about it:

Great price for great functionality is always a good deal. The TCOM-SC is one of the most affordable motorcycle headsets on the market that is still of good quality, having greater transmission range than even some other more expensive brands and models.

Pros :

  • Very affordable, while still maintaining good quality and excellent statistics in all the important areas.
  • LCD screen offers a second avenue of information intake, which is very rare in the headset market.
  • Echo cancellation and noise suppression functions are top notch and provide excellent audio quality.

Cons :

  • Has a unique audio plug, so the range of headphones it can use is limited.

WHY WE LIKE IT :

Great price for great functionality is always a good deal. The TCOM-SC is one of the most affordable motorcycle headsets on the market that is still of good quality, having greater transmission range than even some other more expensive brands and models.

Veetop BT Bluetooth Moto Headset

Summary:

Check Price on Amazon>

Summary:

We’re not going to lie and say there’s anything special about this headset, as it doesn’t really have anything special to set it apart from any of the others. That said, it is still a solid model with great stats across all the fields that matter. Ten hours of operational time at 1000 meters and 75 miles an hour already set it pretty high as far as the performance bar is concerned, and of course, it is waterproof and possesses noise suppression technology to make for clearer incoming and outgoing audio. The main drawback is its three-rider pairing limit, but at this point, four could probably be considered above average, so it is not like three is terrible.

Benefits:

Aside from the general statistics mentioned above, which are pretty solid in their own right, this Veetop headset only has a few things going for it that some other headsets don’t, that being the ability to Velcro it onto your helmet rather than clip it if need be, and the fact that it does have external audio plugin capability, which, while not necessarily rare, not all headsets have.

Pros :

  • Ten hours operating time and 1000 meters transmission range is better than the average eight hours and 800 meters.
  • External audio plugin capability makes the headset more versatile, in case Bluetooth is ever an issue.
  • Can be mounted on the helmet in multiple ways, so you have options in how and where it can be mounted

Cons :

  • Doesn’t come with the 500mA-1A AC Charger that it needs, must be purchased separately.
  • Three rider pairing limit is about as low as it gets on the headset market.

WHY WE LIKE IT :

It’s hard to point to a specific thing that makes this headset special because there isn’t really anything. But we like it simply because it’s good. It doesn’t cost much, it has better than average transmission range and battery life, and its Bluetooth compatibility is just as good as all of the competition.

Sena Expand-02 Headset

Summary:

Summary:

Simple and straightforward, the Sena Expand-02 is a reliable and quality headset that does exactly what you need it to do. It’s handy for conference calls, listening to music, taking phone calls, or receiving directions from GPS, thanks to its crystal clear audio and automatic volume increase when outside noise levels are too loud. It has a solid operational time of ten hours and a standby time of a week and has a transmission range of 900 meters, which isn’t bad at all.

Benefits:

As you can see from the image above, this headset isn’t the kind you need to mount to your helmet, which some might consider a blessing. It is waterproof and has a universal intercom protocol, so it can communicate with any other brand or headset. Other than that, it is your typical headset at a relatively reasonable price that excels pretty well in the criteria you look for in a headset.

Pros :

  • Universal intercom protocol means it can communicate with other headsets and brands without trouble.
  • Doesn’t have to be mounted on your helmet, so there’s no hassle with installation.
  • Automatic volume booster when the surrounding environment becomes too noisy.

Cons :

  • The lack of helmet mounting could also be considered bad by some people that would rather have it that way.

WHY WE LIKE IT :

Sometimes it’s nice to have a headset you don’t need a screwdriver to take off. Other than that, the Expand-02 is just an all-around solid headset with good qualities and a fairly good price.

Criteria Used in the Evaluation of Motorcycle Headsets: and Why You Should Use Them as Well

These brief reviews are admittedly not very complex, only telling you about the surface specifications of each of these ten headsets. Even so, you’ve received all of the most important information you need to judge the headsets against each other, because they all have certain criteria to consider, and that criteria are the same for each one of them.

As you conduct your own research while looking at these headsets or others that you may be interested in, it’ll help to know what those criteria are, why they are so important, and why they should be at the top of your list of priorities when considering which motorcycle headset you want to spend your money on.

How far away can it carry communication?

Arguably the most important factor to consider when considering a motorcycle headset, this is what we refer to as ‘transmission range.’ This is the distance that you can talk to other people that you are paired with using a particular headset. Of course, if you’re just looking for a headset to answer phone calls or listen to music while riding solo, then this factor doesn’t really matter to you, but if you are riding with friends it can be extremely important for keeping track of everyone and making sure you all get where you are going.

When reading the details on a specific headset you are interested in, you will almost always be told the transmission range in meters (feet are sometimes provided as well). Naturally, you want the longest transmission range possible, so you can stay in communication with your fellow riders even if you get significantly separated from them.

Unfortunately, even the best headsets can only communicate over a distance of about a mile, which is approximately 1600 meters. This is about the best that it gets when using the very best headsets available. Your average headset has a transmission range of about 800-1000 meters. Finding a headset with a transmission range greater than 1000 is pretty good, and finding one with a range of under 800 is pretty bad. If your top priority is maintaining constant communication with other riders, this criteria is the most important one for you to keep in mind.

How many riders can it pair with?

In the same vein as the first criteria, this one only matters to people that are looking to maintain communication with other riders as they travel in a group. The number of riders you can pair your headset with is how many you can communicate within your group (keep in mind that no matter what the number, only two riders can communicate at the same time. For example, a headset that can pair up to three riders means you have yourself and two other riders paired in one group. That said, three is about the lowest number of rider pairing that any headset offers.

The average headset is capable of pairing four riders maximum, while some are good enough to pair up to six, and the best in this category can sometimes go up to eight. If you are traveling with an especially large group and you want to be able to stay in communication with them all, this criteria is very important for you to pay attention to, because many headsets with larger pairing numbers have other drawbacks.

For example, you can see that most of the headsets mentioned on this page that can pair up to six riders have shorter transmission ranges than the headsets that pair fewer riders. Depending on your needs, it might be more beneficial for you to buy a headset with a higher pairing limit even if the max transmission range is lower.

What other brands can the headset pair with?

Once again an important factor to consider if your main priority is communicating with other riders, unfortunately not all motorcycle headsets are universal. It is important to know whether or not a headset you buy will even be able to pair with a headset that someone you ride with already owns.

Some headsets may only be able to pair with other devices that are the same brand or model, while some headsets are indeed universal and can allegedly pair with any other brand or type of headset. Sena is notably well-known for their universal intercom headsets, which lets them pair with a wide range of other brands. Always check to make sure the headset you are looking at is compatible with the headsets of the people you want to stay in contact with while on the road.

How long can it last without a recharge?

This one is pretty self-explanatory. While eight hour trips on a motorcycle are a bit uncommon, the fact remains that you could be on a very long drive at some point, and whether it’s communicating with other riders, listening to music, or answering the phone, you want your headset to last you the whole journey, so knowing how long the headset can last you on one full charge is important.

That said, there are two distinctions to keep in mind when you read about how long a headset can supposedly last. You will almost always be informed of both operational time (sometimes referred to as talking time or audio time) and standby time. The latter is usually a much higher number, sometimes hundreds of hours or even several days.

That’s because standby time refers to when your headset is not doing anything. It is on, but it is not transmitting any audio of any sort. When in this standby mode, it is, of course, going to last a long time, but chances are you’ll probably be using your headset a lot as you ride, so don’t let large standby numbers fool you into thinking a headset is better than others.

What you want is a longer operational time, which refers to how many hours your headset can last while actually transmitting audio. The average operational time of a headset is approximately eight hours, with the better than average ones sometimes weighing in at ten hours. The absolute best headsets can have even longer optimes, such as twelve or fifteen hours.

What speed can the headset operate at?

Some low-quality headsets may not be able to operate if you are going too fast. Obviously, having to slow yourself down just to listen to music or talk to a friend is a major pain, and hinders the freedom that’s supposed to come with riding a bike.

Thankfully, most high or even average quality headsets can function at speeds of 75 miles an hour or 120 kilometers an hour. Some headsets might be able to function at even higher speeds, but these are generally quite rare, for safety reasons. If you don’t want your speed to be limited by your device, always make sure the seller specifies the speed it can function at before purchasing it.

How durable is the headset?

Obviously, motorcycle headsets need to be tough. As a rider, you and your equipment are exposed to harsher elements than someone driving a car, and your headset needs to be more resilient because of that. Since you are more exposed to the weather, the most important things are for the headset to be waterproof, in case of rain. It helps with avoiding damage from sweat as well.

But there are other important things to consider, such as cold temperature resistance and the durability of the headset’s smaller parts. Some cheap headsets don’t function well in extremely cold weather, while the higher quality ones can withstand it.

As for parts, just be aware of what your headset is made out of before buying it. Obviously, plastic is less durable than metal and could break in certain unfavorable situations. The wires or cords could be low quality also, and prone to breaking. Knowing what you are paying for before you pay for it is important in getting your money’s worth.

How good is the Bluetooth connectivity?

One of the main draws of these motorcycle headsets is their Bluetooth functionality, which allows you to connect to a device without having to connect a cord to it. Bluetooth is generally the same across the board, but even so, not all connections are created equal. Bluetooth has come in many different variants, ranging from 1.0 to 5.0, and when you are looking at different headsets they will generally list what level of Bluetooth functionality the headset has. If you don’t know what the different levels are, you may want to.

1.0 is practically a relic, used by only the oldest technology. It is very unlikely that you will encounter any modern motorcycle headset advertising Bluetooth 1.0, but if by some chance you did, you should avoid it at all costs. The speed of 1.0 is an appalling 1 megabyte per second (Mbps). From here forward, the way Bluetooth works is relatively simple; the higher the variant, the better it is, for the following reasons.

Higher variants of Bluetooth (3.0-5.0) have much higher transfer speeds, which means less choppy, interrupted audio for your headset. The higher the variant, the less energy is used as well, which means both your headset and other devices (like your phone) will last longer than if they were using a lower variant of Bluetooth (like 2.0). The general rule of thumb is that higher Bluetooth variants are always better, regardless of your situation.

How good is the audio?

This one is somewhat hard to find the truth of, because it is the one factor that nearly every brand will claim to be excellent at. Naturally, you want a headset because you want to be able to hear things other than your engine or the horns of other cars on the road, and that means you want a headset that has really good noise suppression so that you can hear what is coming through your headset clearly, and your fellow riders can hear what you are saying through your mic.

Problem is, nearly every headset and brand will claim to have ‘crystal clear’ audio, and we all know that’s not true. If every headset had the same level of sound quality, there wouldn’t be a whole lot of competition out there, would there?

That said, the only two real ways to try and judge the audio quality of a headset before you buy it is to either see how specific the information about the sound system is (does it specify the type of speakers, the decibel output, the material, etc.) or reading many reviews before the purchase. You can’t always take a review at face value, but if many people that bought the product are all saying the sound quality is bad, then chances are the sound quality is actually pretty bad.

What kind of extra features does it have?

Extra features are by far the least important factor, but still worth considering if you are debating between a few headsets that have solid qualities in all of the other factors. Extra features are the kinds of things a headset might have that are not part of the norm; they are nice and welcome, but not mandatory. This is features like the LCD screen of the FreecConn TCOM-SC or the external audio plugins of some of the other headsets.

An extra feature might even be the ability to mount a headset with Velcro or adhesive rather than a clip. You can pretty much consider this factor anything that would be nice to have, but not mandatory. If you’re debating between two headsets that are similar in almost every other field, this is the criteria that might be the tiebreaker.

How much does it cost?

Perhaps the truly most important criteria since we all care about this one regardless of why we want a headset, the price is a truly varied criterion. Generally speaking, when it comes to buying anything, the more you pay for it, the higher its quality. Yet, some of the headsets we reviewed in this article were quite affordable, while still having much of the same quality as most of their contenders. This is to say that judging a fair price is not as simple as cheap products being bad and expensive products being good.

This is the reason this criterion is mentioned last; because the only way to know if the price of a headset is good or bad is to know whether or not its other qualities can be considered good or bad. The FleetConn TCOM-SC is by far the cheapest headset on this list, being nearly half the cost of the second cheapest headset, but it is still a decent headset with good transmission range and that rare LCD screen.

It is cheap, but its other qualities prove that it isn’t bad. On the other hand, the Sena Expand-02 is almost three times the cost of the TCOM-SC, but its general stats certainly aren’t three times better.

That said, it is still true that the very best products still cost the most. The Lexin LF-B4FM is by far the most expensive headset on this list, costing almost three hundred dollars. It’s a hefty investment; but it is also undoubtedly the best headset here in terms of general performance, with a transmission range and operational lifetime that dwarfs all of the competition.

In short, it’s up to your discretion as to what is a good deal and a bad one. Maybe you don’t need the LF-B4FM’s operational lifetime of fifteen hours, so why pay $300? Maybe the eight hour lifetime and 800-meter range of the TCOM-SC is all you need, and all you’d have to pay is $50. Knowing all of the factors we mentioned before now, and what you want or need out of them, is critical to determining what would be a good price for you to settle on.

PACKTALK Bluetooth Motorcycle System, by Cardo

Summary:

The Cardo SRPT0102 is from the company that was founded in 2004. The unit offers game-changing group-riding with Dynamic Meshwork Communication (DMC) tech. This allows you to communicate with other riders without needing to maintain a position.

Key Features of Bluetooth Helmet Speakers

How can you find the best Bluetooth helmet speakers? It’s a growing market so it can be tough to sort through all the brands, products, and features to choose wisely. While there is a wide range of features to take up here are some of the main ones:

Price

That old saying “You get what you pay for” generally applies. If you buy a Bluetooth helmet speaker in the under-$20 price range, you shouldn’t expect a ton of bells & whistles. That said, it’s still important to think about the total value you’ll be getting. This is more important than the price point to make sure you’re getting more bang for your buck.

You should certainly set a budget. Make sure to stick to it since it’s just as important otherwise it sort of nullifies the whole concept of setting a budget, to begin with. Make sure to focus on how much you can afford to spend rather than how much you want to spend.

It’s also important to consider how a particular unit’s features will affect the price. What’s the maximum number of riders you’ll want in an intercom group? Do you want to multi-task by making phone calls and listening to music at the same time? Do you want the speakers to support Bluetooth 5.0?

These are some of the various factors that will affect the price point of the helmet speakers. You can also save money by shopping around, finding sales/discounts, and finding perks like free shipping through Amazon Prime. The bottom line is it’s better to focus on value rather than price. If you find Bluetooth speakers you want at a price you can afford, then it’s certainly a good situation to be in.

User Interface

This is always important when picking a Bluetooth system, but it’s especially critical when using a Bluetooth headset/intercom system. When you’re riding your bike, it’s critical to cycle through the options as easy as possible.

The best option is one that includes a system of voice commands. This provides a hands-free way to make calls, play songs, and chat with riders. You can even find some units that let you interact with Apple’s personal assistant Siri after linking the Bluetooth speaker to your phone or tablet.

The next best option is one-button controls. This is also a simple yet effective way to cycle through the different options like Play/Pause/Track Forward/TrackBack, and so on. This system is 100% easier than dealing with a different button for each function, which isn’t practical when you’re riding.

An X-factor is the size of the button(s). One of the biggest complaints of some headset/intercom systems is the buttons are too small. When you’re cruising down a highway or country road, you won’t want to fiddle with small buttons.

Intercom

If you pick a system over basic headphones/speakers, then this will include an intercom system. It allows you to communicate with people in your riding group that can range from 2 to over a dozen. Usually, only two people at a time can talk over the intercom system although there are some exceptions based on the tech used.

Another important factor related to the intercom is the maximum range for communicating with others in the riding group. This is a key issue especially during road trips when it’s common for riding group members to get spaced out due to various factors like traffic patterns.

Warranty/Guarantee

It’s highly advisable to look for a Bluetooth helmet speaker that includes a warranty. Sometimes you can find comprehensive lifetime warranties, but it’s quite rare. Even if you get a limited warranty, it will add value to your purchase.

Make sure to read the terms & conditions to find out what is and isn’t included by the warranty. Usually, a limited warranty covers defects due to materials or manufacturing although it really depends on the company’s offering.

Then check how long the warranty is valid until since the date of purchase. The most common durations are 1 or 2 years although you can also find longer warranties. Again, make sure to find out not only how long the warranty is valid but also what it covers.

Bluetooth speakers also are sometimes covered by a satisfaction guarantee. This usually allows you to get a refund within 30/60/90 days of the purchase although sometimes you can only exchange the unit for a new one.

A money-back guarantee usually shows a company wants to provide top-notch customer service.

Brand

Sena and UCLEAR are among the best-known brands in the niche of Bluetooth helmet speakers. The formal Bluetooth specs were released about two decades ago in 1998, so it’s a relatively new technology. However, sales of wireless speakers including Bluetooth units have been spiking in recent years. This is due to various factors including improving tech and consumers not wanting to deal with a bird’s nest of wires.

Since Bluetooth speakers for helmets are less common than other Bluetooth speakers, it’s advisable to do some research about different brands you see at online retailers like Amazon. Make sure to research issues like the company’s history, social presence, customer reviews, etc. This will give you a general sense about whether the brand is one you should consider or avoid like the plague.

You should definitely watch out for generic, off, and “fake” brands. If you buy speakers from these brands, you can save tons of money, but you’ll likely have to deal with other issues. That includes ones like product quality and customer service.

Saving some money on cheap helmet speakers isn’t really worth it if it means you could end up with a world of problems. For example, if the speakers break quickly, you might have problems returning the units or even contacting the manufacturer. The end result would be money down the drain.

Universal Gear

More specifically, does the particular system you’re considering have it? This is important because it could cause issues if others in your riding group own Bluetooth speaker gear that’s incompatible with yours. Make sure to consider options like Sena since they use a universal intercom protocol. While you technically could ask people in your riding group to buy new intercom gear for your next road trip they might not be too keen to do that. It’s better to go with a universal protocol.

Digital Music

You can use helmet speakers to enjoy your favorite tunes in different ways. You can play favorite playlists on a media player. Another option is to connect your speakers to your phone then stream music through Spotify, Pandora, etc. You can even share music with other riders through the intercom system. Music is easily one of the best ways to make your road trips less humdrum. Tech advancements in areas like music streaming have made it easier than ever to take your favorite playlist with you on the road.

Noise Control

Many companies offer this feature, but the technologies and quality can vary a lot. Highways and byways can be loud places, so it’s important for you to hear as clearly as possible when you make/take a phone call or chat with another rider. Look for intuitive systems that automatically make tweaks for incoming/outgoing audio. How do you know if a noise control system actually works? There’s no way to 100% sure until you actually test it.

So it’s a good idea to read some reviews based on Amazon’s Verified Purchase. This will usually give you some honest feedback about issues like the effectiveness of noise control systems. High-end systems will have steeper price tags so make sure to factor that in when doing price comparisons.

Battery Life

Lithium-ion batteries are often used for Bluetooth speakers based on the various benefits they provide. When picking a particular speaker unit, you should research the quality/capacity of the battery. As always make sure you bring at least one spare with you since “stuff” happens in life and especially with batteries.

Then you should also check the battery’s specs. How long does it take to juice up fully? How many hours of talk time, music playback, and standby time will you get on a single charge? These figures differ from unit to unit but can be a major factor when you’ll be motorcycling all day.

Bluetooth Version

Bluetooth was developed in the mid-80s but has only been commercially available since 1998. The latest version is Bluetooth 5.0, which was launched in late 2016. As with other tech upgrades you can find solid Bluetooth speakers for motorcycle helmets that don’t support the latest version. Yes, in one sense Bluetooth 5.0 has the clearest audio versus past versions.

That said, there are other factors that affect the audio quality of Bluetooth speakers. They include the materials, design, and craftsmanship. Even the amount of interference blocking a Bluetooth signal can affect how clearly you can stream music or chat with your buddy.

]]>

In recent years, electric bikes hit the market like a storm. While falling gas prices slowed the trend, people are replacing their cars for e-bikes all over the world. People are discovering that e-bikes are a great alternative to gasoline-powered cars - economically and physically. They are cheaper than owning a car, and you can customize today’s electric bikes to your specific needs and skill level.
You can find electric bicycles designed in a wide variety of shapes, styles, and sizes. You can get yourself a bike for city riding, an off-road mountain bike for hitting the trails, a road bike for your long-distance travels, and even a bike for the beach or to make deliveries. There is literally an e-bicycle for everyone and every use case. Sure, e-bikes have high, up-front, initial costs, but they are comparable to automobiles in pricing and quickly pay for themselves with their lower costs of ownership.

Now that you know there’s a ride for you no matter what you need it for, we’d love to show you the top models available in the market. Because e-bikes have different purposes and features, we have divided this list into three categories. The first will deal with mountain and rural bikes. The second list will deal with best bikes for your daily city commute. Finally, the last list will show you the best of the cheapest so you know what bike you should get if you are on a budget.

Best Electric Mountain and Road Bikes

Riding on rural mountain trails require a special ruggedness you do not need on an urban street. Electric mountain bicycles provide you this luxury, letting you enjoy the outdoors. They quickly propel you uphill even on the steepest hills. These bikes also offer the handling and control to let you ride across uneven terrain with ease, letting you through places you could not otherwise do.

1) Haibike SDURO HardNine 4

This impressive mountain bike lets you go higher, faster, and farther just like a good mountain bike should. It is the perfect example of the heavy, powerful, and built-to-last construction you expect from an MTB.
This beast of a bike supports a 350-watt Performance CX motor that runs off a 500-watt battery from Bosch. That means this baby can take you up to 70 miles before you have to recharge it ( a four-hour cruise), and you can do it by cruising at its top speed of 20 miles per hour. You also get 29-inch tires with this thing along with 180-ml hydraulic disc brakes suspended from a 100-mm front suspension fork. Plus, you get to control it all with a nine-speed shifting system from Shimano.
Beyond the basics, this e-MTB supports an LCD-readout for its current speed, battery charge, remaining range, and current pedaling mode. The dash display is conveniently located on the handle bars.
As for its handling, the SDURO takes rough terrain in stride. You’re guaranteed a smooth cruise over any obstacle, and you can get quick, energy-saving boosts every time you put it in pedal assist mode. You won’t even feel all the bumps with its excellent suspension system as well.
Overall, the SDURO HardNine will set you back for $2,600. It provides a great riding experience for one of the cheapest prices in mountain biking. This makes it the perfect ride for anyone who wants to ride the trails.

2) S-Works Specialized Turbo Levo

The Turbo line offers serious e-MTBs for serious riders. It lets you get wherever you want with minimal effort, thanks to its robust pedal assist feature. The fully-suspended Levo FSR Comp Specialized 2.1 Rx Trail-Tuned drive system packs an actual electric car motor in its frame, and its battery is no joke either. S-Works even went out of their way to incorporate this drive system into the very design of the bike itself, streamlining the entire package for optimal weight distribution. The gear box will even disengage once you reach top speed to reduce friction while going downhill. The bike also has 29-inch tires that support 2.6-inch tires. With these tires, the bike offers 150-millimeter front and rear travel that lets you shred through the wilderness with ease.
You have full control over the bike’s torque and 530W power output through the free, programmable Missoni Control app. You can even set time and distance parameters to ensure you have the power to get home. You can then just pedal and marvel at the power the motor and battery deliver to you. You could also turn off the motor once you reach the tip of a downhill route to enjoy the many jumps and obstacles that make mountain biking worth it.

3) GTECH Escent

GTECH is known for solid electric bikes, and the Escent is no different. It puts many of its mountain bike rivals to shame with its beefed-up, basic frame. It supports a 500-watt Shimano Deore drive system that automatically assists your pedaling, based on the resistance caused by hills and other road obstacles.

The Escent is also on the lighter side of the market, making it easy to carry to and from the mountain. At only 20-30 miles, it does lack the power and range offered by other models. However, it is a very durable bike for its price, and it is extremely fun to ride.

4) Mondraker e-Crusher Carbon RR+

Mondraker makes easily identifiable bikes thanks to their trademark opening between their top and down tubes. But you might find it hard recognizing the e-Crusher as an electric bike. Mondraker decided to design this mountain bike to look like any traditional bike on the market. However, this bike’s pedal assist will get you to the top of the hill twice as fast as any other bike. Otherwise, the e-Crusher is nothing special with decent torque, brakes, and downhill characteristics.

5) Cake Kalk

The Cake Kalk off-road bike respects both the environment and anyone else riding on the mountain with you. It supports silent operation and releases no emissions from its fully electric motor that requires no gear changes or clutching. It also requires very little maintenance, keeping the pressure light on your wallet.

The beauty of this is that Cake did it all without sacrificing the bike’s performance. You can easily reach 50 miles per hour with this 155-pound bike from its three different modes of operations. The Discover mode is great for new riders who just want to get their feet wet. Explore lets you experience longer, more intense rides. You can then kick the bike into Excite mode to bring out the bike’s optimum power and acceleration. All this power comes right from the included custom drivetrain and interior permanent magnet (IPM) motor.

6) Cannondale Moterra

Cannondale’s biggest and newest e-MTB is made for the outdoors. It can withstand anything nature can throw at it including steep inclines and big drops. It supports 130-milimeters of front and rear travel through its 2.8-inch tires and 27.5-inch wheels. It lets you climb higher and farther so you can shred longer without needing to carry your bike uphill. The power comes from its 250-watt motor which Cannondale placed further to the front of the bike than you typically find on e-bikes. This does optimize the weight distribution and handling.

7) Giant Road E+1

Most people call road bikes an abomination. These bikes are a hybrid of a mountain and a commuter bike, letting you ride on your own terms.
As it is a new category, you will not find many of them on the market though. Still, there are some good options out there. One of the best is the Road E+1.
The E+1 prevents muscle fatigue and injury through a robust pedal-assist feature that lets you ride longer and farther than your average traditional road bike. This lets you enjoy all your favorite scenic routes without worrying about getting there with the bike’s top assist speed of 28 miles per hour. The bike even provides three modes of power so you can vary the output to the road conditions. A four-point sensor drives the entire system seamlessly, allowing the motor to amplify your skills when you need it the most.
Plus, you get to ride in absolute comfort. The Road E+1 comes equipped with Ride Control EVO, an ergonomic command center for the entire bike. The LCD display is affixed directly to the center of the handlebars. So, the entire package is right in front of you the whole time, allowing you to maintain balance and control even at high speeds.
Besides the drive system, Giant gave the E+1 all the road bike features you expect. It has an 11-speed Shimano crankset, a lightweight, aggressively-designed, aluminum frame; cargo racks, fenders, panniers, and hydraulic disc brakes. There’s even a fast charger to keep the battery juiced and ready to go.

Beyond the basics, the GSD also gives you ergonomic grips, front and rear lights, mudguards, puncture-resistant tires.
All these features make the Tern GSD a great cargo bike for the urban commuter. You get all this for at least 12 hours from the two 500-watt batteries.

Best Inexpensive E-bikes

Electric bicycles are expensive. You pay a premium to have all that technology bolted to your ride. While all the electronics, motors, sensors, and batteries make e-biking an absolute pleasure, they also create a barrier to entry. Fortunately, the following models offer cheaper options if you want to start riding on a budget.

1) Espin Sport

E-bikes are often expensive for beginners. Because of this, manufacturers have built bikes such as the Espin Sport. You won’t get the all the bells and whistles, but this bike can get your feet wet in the world of e-bike riding.
At only $1,588, the Epsin is still an investment, but it gives you that no-nonsense, blue-collar aesthetic you love. It has a 20-inch traditional diamond frame that durable enough to haul up to 55 pounds of groceries, kids, and other cargo. It is the perfect ride if you just want something for your daily computer to work, store, or short weekend getaway.
At its center is a 350-watt motor powered by a battery that can go up to 50 miles before needing a recharge. Fortunately, you only need about five hours to completely fill the battery. You can even remove the battery so you can charge it at home or in your office. Plus, you get to control it all from a center-mounted, backlit LCD hub display which shows all the usual indicators - battery life included.
Overall the Espin gives you all the features you want in an e-bike but without the high costs. You won’t be able to use it for your really long trips, but it has enough features to get you through your daily commute. It even has LED headlights so you can ride it at night.

2) Tuesday August Live! LS

While some budget e-bikes skimp on features to keep their pricing moderate, the August Live does not. This low-cost bike packs a lot under its $1,399 price tag. It might not have all that bunch of shiny gadgets, integrated lights, or a LCD display, but it has a decent 250-watt motor that can get you to your destination without issues, even on hilly terrain. Beyond the motor, this fun cruiser has a chopper-style handlebar with a trendy paint job that will turn heads as you cruise down bike paths and boardwalks.

What is an Electric Bicycle?

An Electric bicycle, or e-bike, is basically a normal conventional bicycle with a battery and electric motor attached to it. The motor helps you pedal the bike, making riding the bike easier and more efficient. A good e-bike will help you deliver heavy cargo without a vehicle, commute for miles with little effort, or make you mobile if you are recovering from injury or illness.

The Different Types/Classes of E-Bikes

While e-bikes are just modified conventional bikes, you can find a wide variety of shapes and features in the e-bike market. There is a bike style for every type of rider and scenario. You can power up a steep hill with an electric mountain bicycle so you can enjoy the ride downhill, or to reach places you otherwise could not. You can zoom off to work in an instant or deliver cargo without worrying about traffic. You can even find lightweight bikes that will compliment your riding skills instead of replacing them.

Therefore, you must first figure out what you want in an electric bicycle before you go out to buy one, and that means you must decide on a class as well as the style.

In the U.S., electric bikes come in three different classes based on the style of motor, with most bikes falling under either Class 1 or Class 3.

  • Class 1 – Manual bikes with motors that can produce speeds up to 20 mph
  • Class 2 – Automatic bikes. You can use the throttle to ride these bikes without pedaling.
  • Class 3 – Also called speed pedelec, these manual bikes have motors that can produce speeds up to 28 mph.

You can ride any class e-bike without a license in most states and cities. You can even ride them on most bike lanes, streets, and paths. Most riders prefer Class 1 and 3 bikes because they reach greater distances and still let the rider pedal.

What to Look for in an Electric Bike?

So, what else should you want in an electric bicycle? Generally, you want features that help you ride the bike.

People cycle for many reasons. They do it because it is free. They do it for their health. Plus, bikes are often faster than cars and public transit. While you can do it all with an electric bike, each model does them in different ways. Some manufacturers put the motor on the rear wheel to provide extra power directly to your pedaling. Others choose to place the motor directly around the cranks to provide even more power. Some of the newer, more premium models place the motor on the front wheel to make your ride feel more natural.

Before we begin, you must understand that e-bikes are heavy and are limited to only 15.5 mph. They could break down if you try to push your bike beyond its limit. This does not mean you can’t go faster than 15.5 mph with an e-bike. You can go as fast as you can go with your legs. You will just need more effort to go over that limit with an e-bike. Therefore, you want a bike that will do this gradually until you get used to it. This power curve will raise the price of your bike, but the features attached will justify the worth.

This is because manufacturers design their electric bicycles to let their motors do most of the work. You are only meant to pedal gently. Fortunately, most people will rarely reach 15.5 mph under normal riding.

Selecting Motors and Batteries

Because you are meant to let the motor do most of the work, you want an e-bike with a suitably-powered motor and battery. E-bike batteries and motors come from several major manufacturers such as Yamaha, Bosch, Brose, Shimano, and a few others. A few of these model combinations offer more reliable torque. Some offer silent operations. You may also find a few that are less reliable and powerful. Still, you’d do yourself a whole world of good to go with one of the four top brands.

As with car engines, you want an electric bicycle motor that has the torque output you need. Motor output is directly linked to a bike’s overall power. So, you definitely want a bike with a strong enough motor to give you the pedal boost you want and need.

With that in mind, you might want to look at the watt-hour rating as well. The watt-hour rating combines the motor’s output with the output of the battery to give you a better, more accurate way to assess the bike’s total power output.

Battery Range

And you also want a bike with a battery with the range to last through any trail you might want to take your bike down. All that power is nothing if you can’t get a cool ride out of it. Fortunately, most e-bikes offer three to five load levels to let you regulate your overall range. You can set your bike anywhere from 25 percent power boost all the way up to 200 percent.

You may also want a bike with a fast recharging battery if you plan to ride your bike on long commutes.

Other Considerations

While all e-bikes have a motor and a battery, a few models offer other features as well. Some manufacturers incorporate streamlining in order to reduce drag. Others look like traditional bikes. Some e-bikes come with battery security features that will help keep your bike safe if you park it outside. Therefore, you want to ensure that not only does your e-bike have the features you want and plan to use, but is light enough for you to carry if needed. This is because most e-bike accessories will add significant weight to your bike.

You always want a bike with good and reliable control mechanisms. E-bikes let you travel faster and longer than a traditional bike. So, you want one with wider tires to provide enough traction and some bump absorption. Good strong brakes will be necessary as well. Good, high-quality brakes will let you control your deceleration, ensuring that you are always as safe as you can be while riding.

Upcoming E-bike Trends and the Future

The rise of e-bikes gave use rides for every cyclist. The e-bike collection we listed above is just the tip of the proverbial iceberg of what’s out there. You can find bikes for commuters, pedelecs, e-MTBs, and cargo e-bikes to name a few. The diversity of options should continue to rise as people all over the world discover how great electric cycles can be.

This rise in e-bike development is not just in the number of models available to you. Manufacturers are looking for ways they can innovate their product lines to make them more comfortable, beautiful, and diverse.

Here is a list of upcoming innovations in the market you may want to include in your considerations when choosing your e-bike.

Lighter, More Beautiful Bikes

E-bikes are expensive. This is nothing new, but a huge chunk of the price comes from the materials used to make them. To help lower the price and get more people to buy them, manufacturers are looking for ways to make their bikes lighter and more aesthetically pleasing. Newer e-bikes comes with aluminum or carbon frames that can lower the weight of the bike down to about 30 pounds. You will see more makers integrate their batteries into the frame as well. Sometimes, you may not even notice the battery or motor with how integrated they are into the frame.

More Bike Varieties

Manufacturers are looking to see what other types of traditional, manually-powered vehicles they can convert to electric. Soon, you may see every sort of e-bike, e-trike, and e-scooter in your local bike stores. You will also see more innovative way to power them as well.

For instance, one hot trend in e-bikes is to have a vintage leather look and feel that make your ride appear as a motorcycle. That way you can ride around town without people even knowing you are riding a bicycle. Another trend is to use solar-powered batteries.

Extra Batteries to Extend Travel Range

E-bikes will always use a battery for power, and companies will always look for ways to get more power out of one. This is nothing new, and it follows the same trend as in other electric vehicles. However, one recent innovation is to use multiple batteries on a single bike.

For instance, Haibike lets you add a second battery to the down tube to double your travel range with an additional kilowatt of power. Bosch has even invented a system that will seamlessly switch between batteries automatically.

By letting you add extra batteries, manufacturers hope to get more range out of their bikes without having to switch to heavier batteries or motors. Some riders even envision carrying these extra batteries along with them as they do with water bottles today.

Automatic Transmission

All e-bikes today use a manual transmission. That means you must physically switch a lever to change gears while riding. Brose, Bosch, and Continental want to change that. All three companies are developing automatic drive trains that will switch gears for you as you pedal. This innovation may open the door for other automobile features to enter the market as well.

Shared Economy, Renting, and Leasing

To combat the high cost of ownership, it’s quite common seeing e-bikes offered on a rental basis. Many travel destinations already offer e-bikes you can lease during your stay, and more locations may soon follow them into this new shared economy. Even a few sporting goods associations and universities are getting into the mix. Plus, some companies already give their employees e-bikes so they can quickly travel between company location.

E-bikes are here to stay. With these new innovations and more still to come, you can be assured that your perfect ride is out there. You might have to shop around, but you can ditch your old bike for a cool, trendy electric one if you just take a few precautions. I hope this list above helps you along your journey. While it does not list every bike on the market, these few bikes offer everything e-bike riders want when they cycle through town.

Get out there and drive!

Best Dirt Bike Reviews 5 Bikes for Beginners

These best dirt bike reviews are specifically for machines that are friendly to people who have only started riding off-road. That shouldn’t be taken to mean that they’re for children, as a lot of them can still get you in trouble if you’re at all haphazard in your driving. It just means that most of them are suitable for teens still learning the off-road-biking experience as well as adults who’ve done it before.

1) RAZOR MX-650

Designed specifically for younger riders, this compact electric bike can support up to 220lbs. The 650-watt engine powers it up to speeds of 17 mph and the 36V battery allows a riding time of about 40 minutes. It has steel construction, variable speed control, and hand-operated dual disc brakes.

    Pros

    • Electric, so there’s no need to figure in gas costs.
    • Good disc brakes.
    • Friendly to very young riders.

      Cons

  • Tires tend to wear out fast under heavy use.

This is a dirt bike you can feel good about letting young kids ride—a lot of people actually let their 10 and 12 year olds ride it despite the manufacturer-recommended minimum age of 16. Considering the bike only weighs 98 lbs. and a fair number of 12 year olds actually do begin to approach the 70s, it doesn’t seem outrageous at all that many owners would ignore that recommendation. It’s a pretty good starter dirt bike for kids at $480.

2) APOLLO DIRT BIKE 125cc

This 125cc dirt bike has a 4-stroke single cylinder engine with a maximum horsepower of 6.0kW/8.2HP. It has dual hydraulic brakes, front and rear suspension, and a maximum load of 220lbs.

    Pros

    • Easy to put together.
    • Brakes work well.
    • Affordable price for its size/capacity.

      Cons

  • Could use a better gas valve

This $960 dirt bike is a pretty good beginner’s machine for a lot of teen riders—and it’s not too shabby as an adult’s off-roader, too. It gets up to some nice speeds and feels nicely balanced. At $960, though, don’t expect a super-heavy-duty build. It’s nicely constructed, but probably not capable of going without a part replacement or careful maintenance in the first years. Fortunately, parts for it also run cheap. Treated right, this dirt bike can go a pretty good distance.

3) DB70 DIRT BIKE 70cc Semi Automatic

This is a compact, 110 lb. dirt bike with a 70cc 4-stroke semi-automatic engine. The air-cooled motor puts out as much as 4.0kW of power and supplies enough juice for it to go as fast as 55km/h. It has a semi-automatic clutch transmission, a maximum load of 50 kg, and a wheelbase of 925mm.

    Pros

    • Relatively cheap.
    • GGood starter bike for children
    • Quite powerful.

      Cons

  • Might need a regular going-over to ensure optimum safety for the rider.

This is a nice $500 bike for younger users, like the first dirt bike in this lineup, although it’s more powerful given that it’s a proper gas bike. As such, it’s probably better suited for older kids than the other youngster’s bike on the list. It’s not badly constructed at all despite the cheap price, but you may want to ensure that all parts are as should be before letting your kid have a spin. A bolt or two might need tightening and it is always better safe than sorry.

4) TaoTao 110 PIT DIRT BIKE - 110cc

This dirt bike has a 4-stroke 115cc engine and a manual clutch on its steel frame. Comes with 14"/12'' Wheels, Seat Height 28" while the rear ones are conventional ones.Max Speed is 40 mph but depending on the type of route where it is ride.

    Pros

    • Fast.
    • Good at jumps.
    • Well-made.

      Cons

  • Might be too fast for younger users.

This is a great bike at just $1,044, and it will take even big guys on a swift and sweet ride without a groan. It handles trails quite beautifully, too, and jumps nicely for a beginner’s bike, so you know it can be a good machine for practicing. If you plan to use this to teach a younger user, though, you may want to modify it a bit. It can take off like a shot from a standing position, so a throttle limiter would be a good idea; you don’t want your 10-year-old flying off it because of a careless handgrip, after all. Overall, it’s a rather lean and attractive machine, with some nice muscle on it and a very well-balanced feel.

5) APOLLO AGB-36 250cc DIRT BIKE

This full body size bike can handle up to 440 lbs. and sports a wheelbase of 55.9in. The 250cc engine is a 4-stroke, single-cylinder capable of putting out 15.64HP with huge torque. It has an electric start.

    Pros

    • Cheap for its specs/features.
    • Powerful.
    • Great Tires.

      Cons

  • Suspension could be better.
  • Chain ocasionally stretches.

This is a fantastic buy at $1,395, especially considering it’s a 250cc bike. It’s definitely for bigger (and older) beginners, especially those who’ve tried weaker dirt bikes already and now want to move up. Other than the minor issues noted above, it’s also well-made and a pleasure to ride, so it’s definitely a bargain.

Conclusion

Want a bike that can go the distance after you’ve made it past the beginner’s phase? The 250cc bike from Apollo is a pretty good choice on this list, then. It’s the most expensive, yes, but considering what you get, it’s actually a great bargain.

If you really can’t shell out that much, though, you may want to try the 125cc from SSR Motorsports instead. It may be slightly less powerful, but it’s also about $400 cheaper—and still delivers some speedy performance at that price. It’s also modifiable so that you can use it to help younger riders learn how to use dirt bikes, which isn’t really something you can do easily with the large and beefy Apollo.

9) GLION DOLLY Model 200 (Foldable Adult Electric Scooter - 15MPH)

OUR RATING: 94%

Glion Dolly is much more expensive than the Razor E300(around 750 bucks today!), but it is something totally different. It can be folded in a way so you can walk with it like a roller bag suitcase. It is lightweight and easy to fold and unfold.

  • Age Range: From 16 years old.

  • It is fun to ride.
  • It rides well on rain.

10) RAZOR E300 (Just 15MPH but the best seller on amazon)

OUR RATING: 96%

Razor is the best brand for kids electric scooters period! They sell almost every type of scooter, and every product they make is best seller everywhere. However, the Razor E300 is specially good because it has been around for years (around 10 years now) and it was tested by many happy kids who enjoyed its ease of use, reliability, comfort, speed and high quality.

Things to consider before buying:

  • This electric scooter is best used by kids over 12 years old.
  • Max Speed is 15MPH, although customer reviews tested it and the actual max speed is 13MPH.
  • Battery lasts about 35-40 minutes of continous riding according to customer reviews (Razor claims it lasts 45 minutes).
  • Maximum rider weight: 220 pounds (some customers consider this is accurate and they consider that the structure is sturdy and robust).
  • Riding it on Hills can overheat and demand more battery and some customers claimed it is hard for them to climb at a good speed.
  • More than 1,000 reviews on amazon of the E300 model counting all colors sold.
  • This is an older design with like 10 years in the market.

2019 Fastest Mobility Scooter

CONCLUSION

After carefully analyzing the electric scooter's speed on various models and brands we found out that these models above are the 8 fastest scooters for adults. In this list you have the top one which is the NANROBOT D4 which has a maximum reported speed of 40MPH. This model has a powerful 2000w motor and it is considered a really good scooter according to customer reviews on amazon. Its speed is not its only good feature. Its battery charging capacity, its deck and design made us select this model above the rest of the list. You can get it on Amazon for a little more than 1,000 dollars.
Another great choice Edrift moped Scooter. It comes with fat tires and a great battery of 60V to be able to commute for a long time before it is is wasted. It runs at a max speed of 30MPH and it is really comfortable to ride.

Another recommended option is the SUPERRIDE Unicycle Self Balancing scooter if you are fond of these type of scooters. It has a big fat tire and can go up to 20MPH while it comes with a 60V battery, and a powerful 1000watt motor. Charges fast and comes with LED headlight, and an electronic horn. Another great scooter is the "Glion Dolly" . It is slower than the 2 above, but it is lightweight, and it is a maintenance free scooter. It offers a smooth ride and easily foldable and great to be transported in a train or a bus or a car. It can be pushed as a roller bag suitcase. Another not so recommended one is the well known by everyone "E300 Razor" which is the most popular and best seller one. It can ride at a speed of 15MPH (customers reported that it can only reach 13MPH). However, this model is from a trusted brand that is popular among kids and teens, but it can also be used by adults as well. It is not as powerful as the other 4, with a motor of just 300 WATTS. And what is great about this one, is that it costs only 210 bucks.
